Collection is clearly the most expensive part of ocean cleanup and can be prevented by immobilising waste near their origins, typically river estuaries.
What to do with the plastics in the wild, though ?
Due to a new technology, developed by our company Unicorn Power (UK), plastic waste can be turned into valuable hydrogen, partly offsetting the cost of static, floating boom collection.
Every several months, the ship will offload the hydrogen tanks and get re-supplied for the next tour.
